Metal Art Village Opening

I was pleased to find out that one of my sculptures was accepted to the Metal Art Village’s annual sculpture show. I call the piece “The Spine,” and you can view it here:

The show is in celebration of April being declared Sculpture Month by Tucson’s Mayor Rothschild. My piece is currently on display for the next 6 months, or until someone buys it. 🙂 Daddy needs a new welder.

But one of the best parts of Metal Art Village is that the Tucson Hop Shop is right across the parking lot from the sculpture garden. So you can have a beer and gaze at all the wonderful sculpture in the yard.

The show’s opening will be on April 19th from 6-9 PM. In addition to an open studio night, the artists (including myself) will be speaking a little bit about their pieces at about 7 PM. I’m looking forward to seeing a good turnout!

Sculpture Resource Center Show!

Come out and see three pieces of my work along with 28 other artists at the Sculpture Resource Center’s annual juried show. I got a preview today when I dropped off my pieces and there is some amazing work. The show will run from the 27th of January to the 9th of February, noon to 6pm each day.

It’s been a while

It has been a while since I have posted anything, so I thought I would drop a note in here. Not much activity on the art front. It has been a busy Fall and start to Winter. I’ve seen that quite a few people have checked into the site. Most every referral I get is from Facebook. As always, you can like my site at https://www.facebook.com/ArtThatSquirrelsLike I also get a ton of spam. I guess the upside is that I know where to get the cheapest pills on-line. They only remind me a few hundred times a week. 🙂

I have had a couple of inquiries as to purchasing some of my art. If you are inclined almost everything is for sale. I had originally intended for this site to be mostly my portfolio, but if I get enough feedback on it, I guess I could put a for sale page up. Please, send me a note if you are interested. I can ship anything. Some of my smaller stuff would be cheap and easy to get out to you. I way more art than is on the site, so I can send you some pictures if you want a piece of the action.

For those of you in the Tucson area, I’m going to try to have another show here in the next couple of months. Unfortunately, Star Bear Gallery is going away. More details to follow.

Facebook & Successful Show

I wanted to invite everyone to follow my new Facebook page dedicated to the website.  My posts should come through there, too, so this should be a good experiment.  You can like my page through the following link:  https://www.facebook.com/ArtThatSquirrelsLike

There was a great turnout at Star Bear Gallery this weekend.  It was great to get some good exposure in my new hometown and meet some great people.  The art will continue to be on display there for the next couple of weeks.  If you want to drop by it will still be there.  Its an adventure, just to get there, but it is well worth the trip.  Thanks to all those who came out.

Gallery Show at Star Bear

If you are in the Tucson area, come out to the Star Bear Gallery on October 25th and 26th from 11AM to 5PM on both days.  I will have several pieces on display.  In addition, there will be several other artists from sculptors to painters to photographers.  A new boutique is opening up at the same location, so there will be some really cool clothes for sale.  On top of all the fanfare, there will be live music and psychic readings.  A party to say the least.

Star Bear is located at:

5634 W Owl Ridge Rd

Tucson, AZ 85745

Hope to see you there!

Upcoming Show

Stay tuned for my art in the Tucson area, on display in late October.  I have been asked to have a half dozen or so pieces at the Star Bear Studio for the upcoming Tucson Studio Tour.  My pieces will be set out among the desert as you walk around the studio.  A big thanks to Ursela Gurau for the opportunity to be apart of such a unique studio set out among the saguaros!  Stay tuned for details.
